What Is a Parent Coach?

A parent coach coaches parents on ways to raise physically and emotionally healthy children.

Parent coaches help parents/caregivers learn about parent-child relationships, child development, behavior management, trauma, mental & physical developmental issues, along with many other parenting topics.

A parent coach can be recommended by the court for parenting courses & can also be chosen by individuals privately.

A parent coach offers parents advice on positive parenting strategies. They listen to the challenges that the parent is facing, and they offer advice on how to foster a more positive home environment. For instance, they may suggest new ways to respond to tantrums and bad behavior.

Why take an Active Parenting class?

Active Parenting First 5 Years is a 4 week class focusing on basic skills for new parents, caregivers, & early childhood staff training.
Active Parenting, ages 5 - 12 is a 4-6 week class focusing on raising responsible, cooperative children who are able to resist negative peer pressure and thrive.
Active Parenting of Teens is a 6-8 week comprehensive parenting program for parents of preteens and teens. The skills you learn in this class will give you confidence and courage to meet the challenges—and savor the joys—of your children’s teen years.

Families in Action is a program for parents and teens. There’s no denying it. Parents and teens are often at odds—but it doesn’t have to be that way. When parents and teens learn together, they will have a common language and skills for a smoother ride through adolescence.

Families in Action is a lively program that gives families critical tools for the challenging teen years: communication, conflict resolution, encouragement, and more. Plus powerful information about preventing problems with drugs, alcohol, sex, and violence.

There’s no doubt that the teen years are tough, but these can also be some of the best times of your life.

Teens in Action is a 6-session program that will help you make the most of being a teenager and figure out where to go from here.

Even better…you’ll learn skills you can start using now to make positive changes

in your life.

You’ll learn: the secret to gaining freedom. communication skills that work in any situation (even in a post-apocalyptic zombie world). how to solve problems creatively (as demonstrated by a werewolf in recovery). how to get along with all kinds of people (including adults). …and a lot more. Use these skills to start creating the life you want for yourself.

Teens in Action is about learning how to take control. Because it’s YOUR life!

Crossroads of Parenting & Divorce is a 4-week course that focuses on helping separating parents shield their children from parental conflict.

How much does a parent coach cost?

Typically, each course meets once per week for 4 weeks. Each class is $60.00 per person.
